first steps towards Greece\u2019s new Prioritised Action Framework"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of Environment and Energy (Directorate of Natural Resources and Biodiversity Management) and the Green Fund, in collaboration with the EU Environment Directorate-General, organized a workshop on December 12, 2018, aiming to better prepare the drafting of Greece\u2019s new Prioritised Action Framework (2021-2027).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1760 size-400 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/edozoume.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/2-400x251.jpg\" alt=\" width=\"400\" height=\"251\" \/>The preparation for the country\u2019s new PAF will be coordinated through the LIFE-IP 4 NATURA Project.<\/p>\n<p>This process covers:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>the monitoring of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ypeka.gr\/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=sgwYR3v9BWU%3D&amp;tabid=539&amp;language=el-GR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">current PAF<\/a> (2014-2020) through specific indicators,<\/li>\n<li>setting priorities for the new basis of the country\u2019s Reports on the State of the Environment and<\/li>\n<li>public consultation with stakeholders and interested parties on the specification of the new measures and policies.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Ministry of Environment and Energy and the Green Fund will develop the 2021-2027 national Priority Action Framework (PAF) for the financing of the NATURA 2000 sites, covering the following subject areas:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1763 size-400 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/edozoume.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/3-400x239.jpg\" alt=\" width=\"400\" height=\"239\" \/><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">defining objectives and priorities,<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">describing the measures \/ actions to be funded,<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">exploring potential EU financial contribution,<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the program.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The workshop also aimed to present the various European Union financial instruments for the Natura 2000 network, and to engage the relevant managing authorities in this discussion.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1768 size-600\"
