Members of the WWF Greece LIFE-IP 4 NATURA team participated at the 9th Panhellenic Ecology Conference, organized by the Hellenic Ecological Society (October 4-7, 2018).
Mr. Ioannis Mitsopoulos, Scientific Coordinator of the project, referred to the project’s objectives in conjunction with the Greek Prioritised Action Framework.
He also made a presentation on the pilot implementation of NATURA 2000 site Management Plans, the development and implementation of Action Plans for species and habitats of Community Interest, the mapping and assessment of Ecosystem Services in Greece, as well as on the development of innovative tools for the management of NATURA 2000 sites.
Mr. Mitsopoulos also referred to the stakeholder capacity building actions and to the planned national awareness raising campaign on Natura 2000.
In the context of the conference, a special session was held concerning the Action Plans’ Draft Specifications. The final draft was presented to the scientific community and the conference’s participants who offered effective feedback for the benefit of the project’s deliverable.
