On Sunday, May 19th, 2019, the LIFE-IP 4 NATURA project team and Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center welcomed friends of the Natura 2000 network to celebrate the European Natura 2000 Day.
During the celebration, we enjoyed a fascinating virtual reality trip at Parnitha mountain, one of the most emblematic Natura 2000 sites of the Attica region.
We also created a colorful fingerprint mosaic, we ran handicraft workshops and composed another mosaic depicting the Natura 2000 logo.
Meanwhile, the day’s guided tours at the SNFCC’s Mediterranean Garden also sent a message promoting nature protection through the Natura 2000 network.
Each of the 446 Natura 2000 sites of Greece is a reason to celebrate the network’s benefits.
The next celebration of the European Natura 2000 Day will take place in May 2020 in Attica, Crete, East Macedonia-Thrace and Epirus-West Macedonia simultaneously, sending a powerful message across Greece.
